The Blitz Party D-Day Special
THE BLITZ PARTY RETURNS
For the 75th Anniversary D-Day Special
The first Blitz Party played host to around 60 guests in the quirky surroundings of B&H Bar 10 years ago, in 2009. There were fortifying forties cocktails, swing music, and everyone was dressed to the nines in their finest vintage togs.
Alongside the Prohibition Party, The Blitz Party was at the forefront of the experiential trend that has swept across London over the last 10 years and in it’s own way, The Blitz Party helped pave the way for newer and more extreme immersive brands to emerge.
Looking back on those early years, The Blitz Party was an exciting event to be part of, it felt new and underground. There was a real feeling that we were doing something that hadn’t been done before – and from that first party, The Blitz Party went from strength to strength, increasing in numbers from 60 guests to 750 in a matter of months.
At its height, there was a Blitz Party running practically every four to six weeks, always over-subscribed and usually selling out at least a couple of weeks in advance. After 10 years however, it is nice to turn one’s attention elsewhere, follow new fashions and develop new ventures.
We do, however, feel rather proud of this party that we’ve developed and excited every time the two annual events come around. This year, not only celebrated 10 years of The Blitz Party, but coincides with the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Normandy Landings. Which, we think, is as good as reason as any to paint on our stockings, embrace Victory Rolls once again and swing dance under searchlights on Saturday 9th June.
The Blitz Party D-Day Special is back at The Vaults Waterloo on Saturday 9th June 2019.
Discover our underground bunker, complete with a warren of rooms, live music stages, fortifying cocktails and good old fashioned fun.
